There was pandemonium on Wednesday evening in Kpansia area of Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa State, over the stabbing to death of a youth leader, identified as ThankGod Douglas by an Hausa Keke rider.
GRASSROOT REPORTERS’ correspondent gathered that the incident took place at Nikton Junction, Kpansia School field.
Eyewitnesses told our correspendent that the Keke was captured by angry youths in the area and beaten to death.
Our correspondent gathered that the yet-to-identified Keke rider stabbed Douglas to death over N50 change.
The angry youths were said to have burnt many tricycles, popularly known as Keke.
Reacting to the incident, the Bayelsa State Police Command condemned the incident, while calling on members of the community to remain calm.
The police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Asinim Butswat said the police has restored normalcy to the area.
