Governor Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) was on Sunday declared winner of the Oyo state governorship election.

The PDP candidate was declared winner of the election by the INEC Returning Officer (RO) for Oyo state, Prof Adebayo Bamire, at the state INEC headquarters in Ibadan.

Prof Banire who is the Vice Chancellor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife said Governor Makinde polled 563,756 votes to emerge winner of the election.

The INEC RO stressed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate who came second scored 256,686 votes.

Prof Banire maintained that the Accord governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu got 38,357votes.

Makinde won in 31 of the 33 local government areas in Oyo state.
