Former governor of Enugu State and Senator representing Enugu East senatorial district, Senator Chimaroke Nnamani has been defeated by the candidate of the Labour Party, Sir Kelvin Chukwu in the 2023 senatorial election for Enugu East.
Chukwu scored 69,136 votes while Nnamani scored 48,701 votes.
Kelvin replaced his brother, Oyibo Chukwu as the Labour Party candidate after he (Oyibo) was murdered and his body set ablaze.
