The police in Cross River State have arrested a wanted kidnap kingpin responsible for many kidnap activities in Cross River State, Kufre Ekpo Etim, popularly known as Romance, GRASSROOT REPORTERS reports.
The notorious kidnapper was arrested by men of Anti-cultism and Kidnapping Squad of the Cross River State Police Command on Tuesday after a fierce gun battle.
Romance, son of a traditional ruler in Unwanse, Calabar South, is notorious for kidnapping and killing some of his victims.
He was declared wanted after his second in command, Emmanuel Luke was arrested 3 years ago and made shocking confessions.
His (Romance) mini-estate was demolished by the Cross River State government.
Reports on Tuesday said he was arrested at the borrow pit behind the state-owned university, UNICROSS.
Police sources said he has confessed to many kidnappings in the state, including the kidnap of medical doctors, Abonima’s wife, lecturers, journalist’s wife etc.
He also admitted to the killing of one Papa in 2020.
He confessed to the killing and beheading of one Dede in December 2020 at White House Street, Calabar South LGA.
