The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won two House of Representatives seats in Cross River State. Incumbent, Rt. Hon. Alex Egbona won Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency. Hon. Egbona was on Sunday, February 26, declared winner of the February 25 House of Representative election. The returning officer, Prof Chike Ekeopara who made the declaration at Ugep, headquarters of the federal constituency said Egbona polled the highest number of votes to emerge winner. He said Egbona of the APC polled a total of 20,482, while his closest rival, Eko Atu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, got 13,471. The Labour Party candidate, John Ifere came with over 10,000 votes. For Etung/Obubra Federal Constituency, the candidate of the APC, Rt. Hon. Mike Etaba was re-elected for a third term. Hon. Etaba defeated the candidate of the PDP, Friday Gabriel Okpechi who came second.
