The police in Cross River State have gunned down three suspected kidnappers allegedly responsible for the kidnapping of nine passengers along Calabar - Ikom highway on Monday, November 14.

The kidnappers, suspected to be herdsmen opened fire on two passenger vehicles between Okomita and Uyanga axis of the highway, causing the vehicles to stop.

They whisked the occupants of the vehicles into the bush, while some who escaped sustained injuries.

GRASSROOT REPORTERS had reported that eight of the victims were rescued yesterday by the Police.
