Information reaching GRASSROOT REPORTERS has it that Dr Joshua Omini and Dr Etim Ekpo Egong and two others who were kidnapped by gunmen along Ikom-Calabar Highway on November 18, 2022 have regained their freedom.

Sources told GRASSROOT REPORTERS that a ransom was paid for their release.

The kidnappers had demanded N100 million for their release, which was later reduced to N60 million.

It was however not clear how much was paid  for their freedom.
