By Obio Monday More than thirty support groups in Cross River State have called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to suspend former governorship aspirant of the party, Senator John Owan Enoh for anti-party activities.

The groups made the call when they stormed the APC Secretariat in Calabar, Cross River State, accusing Senator Enoh of working for the candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Sandy Onor.

In a communiqué signed by leaders of the support groups led by Beatrice Otu of ‘It Must Be,’ support group, Joy Esuabanga of ‘Grassroots Development Front,’ Edet Honesty of APC Concerned Students; the groups also demanded for the immediate removal of Senator Enoh from the Presidential Campaign Council.

The communiqué read:
Our attention has been drawn to the appeal of Sen. John Owan Enoh seeking the Court of Appeal to mandate INEC to delist Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and enlist him as the rightful gubernatorial flag bearer of the APC in Cross River State, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

We are
saddened, pained and burdened that this distraction, which was laid to rest by the Federal High Court ruling sitting in Calabar which maintained the authenticity of Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. This brazen show of
desperation is causing too much damage to our Party, especially in view
of the forthcoming general elections.

We are forced to believe that, Sen. John Owan Enoh is hiding under the
guise of seeking Court redress to play anti-party politics in support of his
kinsman Sen. Sandy Onoh who's the flag bearer of the Peoples'
Democratic Party. The Party should not be quiet by sweeping this issue
under the carpet, which has the capacity of whittling down her chances of
a smooth victory in the coming general elections. This appeal is
provocative and breaks every single rule of cohesion the Party has
maintained and known for overtime.

May we at this point respectfully refresh your memory Sir of the activities
of Sen. John Owan Enoh in the 2019 General Elections where he
contested as a factional Candidate against Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, a
precedent, if not cautioned by the Party is likely to play out.

The Candidacy of Sen. Prince Bassey Otu gives the APC a rollercoaster
ride to victory because of his amiable personality, qualities, pedigree,
statewide love and admiration, popularity, sagacity and clear blue prints
which sets him far ahead of his rivals. His name rings with goodwill and
reception across the State and beyond. We can’t be silent and allow
someone pillage our commonwealth out of greed and personal
aggrandizement. Consequently, we have the following under listed
prayers to the APC leadership in Cross River State:

PRAYERS
1. In line with Article 20(10) of APC Constitution, we call for the
immediate suspension of Sen. John Owan Enoh as a member of
APC in Cross River State as it is evidently clear that he is working
Against the Party.

2. We call for a later expulsion of Sen. John Owan Enoh from the APC
Cross River State if he fails to refrain from his anti-party activities.

3. We call for Sen. John Owan Enoh removal from the presidential
campaign Council with immediate effect.

4. Finally, we call on our Party leadership in the State to as a matter of
urgency direct all Party aspirants as they were and members who
are in Court to withdraw their cases and submit to the internal Party
mechanisms as set Up By our ebullient and People oriented Party
Chairman Barr. Alphonsus Eba.

We wish to use medium to thank our supersonic Governor His Excellency,
Sen. Sir Prof. Ben Ayade for standing by his politics with ethics thereby
ensuring the Southern Senatorial District is positioned to succeed him for
justice, equity, fairness and peaceful transition as it has always been from
1999 till date.

We pledge our unalloyed support to our Presidential Candidate Asiwaju
Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice Alhaji Shettima, our Governorship
Candidate Sen. Prince Bassey Otu and his Deputy Rt. Hon Peter Odey,
All our APC Candidates in Cross River State (Top to Bottom). We pledge
our TOTAL loyalty to the Barr. Alphonsus Eba APC-led EXCO in Cross
River State.
