A depleted Super Falcons of Nigeria this evening, lost the third place match to the Copper Queens of Zambia in the ongoing African Women Championship (WAFCON) played at the Stade Mohammed V, Casablanca, Morocco.
Nigeria conceded in the 30th minute through a goal scored by Zambian midfielder, Evarine Katongo.
The Zambians held on to their one-goal lead to end the game 0:1 at full time.
Both teams have already booked a spot at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Zambians were awarded the bronze medal while Nigeria finished the tournament on fourth position.
