A photo showing a West African Chimpanzee and monkey that was recently killed by a hunter in Nigeria for possible use as food has emerged online, GRASSROOT REPORTERS reports.
The Chimp was killed alongside a monkey by a yet-to-be-identified hunter in a forest in Nigeria.
Sharing a photo of the animal, believed to be one of the most critically endangered species in the world, a Nairaland user with the username Flyinnizam, wrote:
“Hello Peeps, so after a long time and due to the fact that I travelled, I haven’t been able to update you guys but I was sent this photos from home. The Chimpanzee is currently receiving treatment.”
Many who commented on the post criticized the killing of the animals.
