Nine persons were burnt to death in a road accident that occurred along the Ore-Lagos highway.

 

It occured at Omotosho Step Down Bridge in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

 

The victims were said to have been burnt beyond recognition.

 

Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ore Unit Command, Mr Sikiru Alonge, said the accident happened in the early hours of Friday.

 

He said it involved two vehicles, a white Toyota Hiace bus marked FKJ 095 XE and a Honda Accord Saloon car

 

“Nine persons were burnt to death in a ghastly accident which happened on Ore-Lagos expressway early this morning.

 

“The accident was caused by a tyre burst which cause a head-on collision which later resulted into a fire blast and burnt all occupants of the vehicles beyond recognition,” he said.

 

He said remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the General Hospital in Ore.
