The governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade has assured that the Bakassi Deep Seaport and the Super Highway will be working in the next two years.

The governor said this on Thursday during the Industrialisation Rally in support of his administration organized by the 18 local government council chairmen and councillors in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

The Bakassi Deep Seaport and Super Highway which were initiated in Governor Ayade’s tenure has witnessed delays in their commencement. The governor has barely two years to complete his second term in office.

He said

“We have found investors for the Bakassi Deep Sea Port and Super Highway and I can assure you that all these will be working in the next two years.

“God does not reward you for the wealth you acquire for yourself and your family but what you provide for others and expect nothing in return.

Prof. Ayade also said that his administration has created opportunities for at least one person from each family to be in government across the state, adding that he would have made sure all indigenes of the state are government payroll if that was possible.

”The Rice seedling factory, garment factory, Calachika, Cocoa Processing Plant, Rice mill are all going to provide thousands of jobs.”

Speaking at the rally, the Chairman, Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON), Emmanuel Offiong pledged their total support for Ayade’s administration, assuring that the people at the grassroots are ready to swim and sink with the governor in his political voyage.

”We the eighteen council chairmen have come here with one hundred and ninety-six councillors and hundreds of other political office holders in the council to solidarity with the purposeful leadership you have provided and assure you of our continued support.
