Reports say the COVID-19 test result of Mr Ibanga Bassey Etang, Acting Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), who died mysteriously on Thursday morning has returned negative, according to report by TheGuruNews.com, which was shared by the NDDC’s official social media handles.
The Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio had directes NDDC management to shut down its operation for two weeks following the death of Chief Etang on suspicion of COVID-19.
Grassroot Reporters had earlier reported how Etang’s death was suspected to be of the deadly Coronavirus.
As a result of the controversies surrounding his (Etang) death, NDDC shut down its operations with immediate effect and issued a directive urging all staffers to go into self-Isolation in a statement signed by Silas Anyanwu.
The latest development, many and family members are suspecting that he may have been poisoned.
