The Late Mr. Darlington Offiong

The Chairman, Association of Cross River State Online Journalists (ACROJ), Mr. Edem  Darlington has lost his dad.

The late Mr. Darlington Offiong died after a brief illness at University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH).

The Late Darlington Offiong was a renowned musician and highlife king of Cross River origin. He sang alongside great highlife kings like Osita Osadebe, Cardinal Rex Jim Lawson, Etubom Rex Williams amongst others.

He led numerous musical groups including the famous Cross River Nationale and was the band leader of the popular LUNA Nite Club, Calabar that drove many national and international visitors to the state.

The burial of the late musical icon has been slated to hold on the 9th of November, 2019.

In a release signed by his son, Edem Darlington on behalf of the family,  the opening of mourning house will be on the 7th of November 2019 at No 4 Mary Magdalene Street, Calabar, with musical all night on the 8th of November while the funeral service will be held on the 9th of November at the African Club, Calabar.

According to Mr. Edem Darlington, the late musical icon will be laid to rest at the Hawkins cemetery, Eyo Etta axis, Calabar.

The release said funeral house will be opened for sympathizers and friends of the late musician.
