Prof. Ikpeme Asanye Ikpeme

A professor of orthopaedic surgery, Prof. Ikpeme Asanye Ikpeme has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new Chief Medical Director of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH). A letter of appointment  was presented to him by Hon. Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole. Prof Ikpeme will replace Prof. Thomas Agan  whose tenure elapses in few days time.

Born on the 1st of February, 1966 in Ntan Obu, Eniong Abatim, Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State, Prof. Ikpeme attended Government Secondary School, Ikom, Cross River State before proceeding to School of Basic Studies, Akamkpa.
He studied medicine and surgery at University of Benin, master of business administration (MBA) at University of Calabar. Prof. Ikpeme is credited to have  published more than 47 research articles. He has bagged several awards and fellowships.
