Gov. Ben Ayade has said the realization of the bakassi deep seaport will balance the disequilibrium in the economy of Cross River state. He noted that infrastructure is the heartbeat if NIgeria must develop.

In his words:”there is dying need for the Bakassi deep seaport, we have a deep vision as this will position the state for the future. Ayade spoke at the presentation/submission of Bakassi deep seaport project outline business case (OBC report) by the Federal Government of Nigeria, appointed Transaction Advisor: Messer Feedback infrastructure limited. The bakassi deep seaport project is expected to be the deepest port in Africa,it is a 20meters port and would be the second trade port in Nigeria after Apapa.
